A wise man once said “you have to
look back at the trail of your predecessors in order to visualize the path for
the future”. As cliché as the quote may be, this is the philosophy of 21st century car designers that
assists them in sustaining the values and visions of auto brands that have
become synonymous with today’s consumer market.Thousands of classic gear heads
from around SA made their way to the Nasrec expo center for exhibiting and for many admiring the forefathers
of modern automobiles as we have come to know them.
Though the show was dedicated to the old
school movement,the supercar ,Chopper and new body muscle fraternities weren’t
going to let old geysers scoop all the glory. Luminas, R8s, GTR35s and drag
cars drew in the crowds as much as the main attractions. With that said here’s
a recap.
Considering that ford Cortinas in the streets
of SA are usually parked on bricks, used as scrap metal collectors and chicken houses,
this one deserves a Z.A.L mark of approval.
