If by now
you’re already tired of minimally notable improvements on the GTI’s aesthetics
and power plant, then VW’s Design Vision GTI will bring you that long awaited
sigh of relief. Gorging out an insane 370 Kw at 6500 RPM, 560 Nm of torque complements
of a couple of turbos and shooting to the 100 kph mark in 3.9 seconds.
Exterior wise,
it’s a reminder of the mark 7, but it seems a samurai warrior was entrusted to
slice up aerodynamic openings accompanied by carbon fiber composites, a first
for any golf , to keep her grounded when the 3 litre V6 engine begins to croon in
augmented notes through the exhaust pipes.
As for the cockpit,
if you've seen Audi’s RS range or better yet the R8 V10, then the excessive use
of suede with hints of rot and again,
carbon fiber shouldn't be much of a surprise, take it as big brother taking
style hints from the little brother.
Keep an open
mind before you commence on putting your budget on a diet to make space for an installment that is equal to a mortgage payment in order to be one of the first
to trade up. The final design and production from the Wolfsburg auto giant has
yet to be finalized that’s or confirmed for that matter. Considering that it’s
a 215 kilowatt spring from the standard 162 Mark VII engine, don’t expect
anything past 300 kw in reality. We’ll have to wait and observe if this is just
a flagship model for new performance tech earth’s largest auto group is
promising for future models or just another appetizer.
